The Pu Luong limestone landscape in an area of outstanding beauty, cultural interest and high biodiversity value stretching from Mai Chau in the North West to Cuc phuong National Park in the South East. It is blessed with rich forest, limestone panoramas. Magnificent rice terraces and break taking scenery. Experience the everyday life and culture of Thai and Muong people and stay in scenic villages and in traditional homestay accommodation. Pu Luong Nature Reserve offers opportunities for easy to moderate cycling and trekking, ranging from one to several days visits.
Pu Luong is a globally important example of lowland limestone forest ecosystem and recognize as a global center for plan diversity. The forest support many unique species, including the Dalacour’s langur, one of the most threatened primate species in the world, found only in this area, Many other threatened species inhabit the forests including bear ( fresh claw mark can be seen on the trees), clouded Leopard, Winston civet, Loris and many Orchid species.
Trekking trip is one of the most fascinating way to experience in daily life of Thai and Muong hill tribes and explore this area.

Day 1: Hanoi – Arrival ( D)
On arrival at Hanoi national Air port, you are warmly welcome by our guide and escort you to hotel for a chance to freshen up before a full trip briefing and a guided walk through old quarter before dinner.
Summary: Stay in Tirant Hotel / Dinner at Hanoi Local restaurant
Activities: briefing throughout Trekking itinerary in following days/ walking in Hanoi old quarter.

Day 2: Hanoi – Pu Luong Nature Reserve– Muoi – Son village valley( B/L/D)
Depart Hanoi early morning and transfer 4 hours to the start of the trail in Hoa Binh province at TanLac. Upon arrival at Lung Van, have picnic lunch and separate your own luggage’s for trekking days. Trek from beyond Ban Xom village along a remote valley to Ngo Luong on a beautiful trail crisscross by local footpaths. We then trek steeply uphill to Muoi village, perched high in the limestone hillside, affording fantastic views down into the Nature reserve. Warm cloth may be needed here as the evening are cool in the forest. Some of the journey will be done by jeep/ truck. Overnight in Eco tourism homestay, Ban Muoi village.

Summary: stay over night at Muoi Village homestay/ lunch en route, dinner with Thai family
Transfer 4 hours by bus/ Trekking times: 4-5 hours: distance: 10 – 14 km

Day 3: Ban Muoi – Ban Hin Eco tourism Villages ( B/L/D)
The first few hours are spent hiking in beautiful undisturbed forest before plunging very steeply downhill into the heart of the reserve, a wide lush valley cultivated by minorities Thai people. The step down hill may be challenging if it has rain recently. Along the valley bottom rice fields and vegetable farm are punctuated by idyllic – looking village. Reaching level ground, hiking along a jeep trail and on village paths to hin or Nua village where we will stay for another nights. For those wishing to hire further continue uphill into the limestone hills to Ban Cao Hoong. The evening is a presentation of traditional music from the local villages. Day 4: Ban Nua – Ban Kho Muong Villages ( B/L/D)
If you are lucky enough to be here on Thursday you will be treated to be delights of the pho Doan market.
We set off early, along wih many of the villagers en- route to the markets. We have the opportunity to explore the market and soak up the atmosphere continuing for 4 hours uphill along the footpaths to the hidden villages of Kho Muong. This is perhaps the most remote of the village homestays. Trek to a recently discovered and now protected cave, home to rare bats. It is a fantastic tour around the cavernous hollow interior, untouched as yet by fairy lights and concrete trails. Overnight in Eco tourism homestay Kho Muong.

Trekking time: 8 – 10 hours/ distance: 26km

Day 5: Kho Muong – Hang village ( B/L/D)
Today is hike 50% on village paths single track trail, through rice paddy terraced, cross stream and 50% on an old disused unpaved French road – the original Ho Chi Minh Trail. There are sone good descents and several more streams crossings. The trekking is the remote yet one is never far from a villagers tending fields..relax from the heat of the days in a local home while lunch is cooked before continuing to a village nestled between steep karts mountains. It is recommended to stroll around the villages and join in as the villagers go about their ddaily lives.
Or relax in one of the three Eco homestays. Overnight homestays in the traditional stilt house of Ban Hang Villages. Some tough sections through forest on small paths.

Trekking times: 7- 8 hours/ distance: 16 km

Day 6: Hang – Phu Luong Nature Reserve – Ma river –Mai Chau – Hanoi ( B/L/D)
After a leisurely breakfast, hike through the narrow valley to the junction where we hike to the fantastic Ma river. Take a boat upstream a short way ( approx 20 minutes) past string of minority villages. Arriving at meeting point with driver, we take bus to Mai Chau for lunch.
After lunch, taking time to walk around Mai Chau Village by some gifts for your friends. Say good bye Mai Chau, transfer 3 hours back to Hanoi.we arrive in time for a big night celebration to mark the end of great trip. Night in Tirant Hotel.
Summary: Breakfast at homestays/ lunch in Mai Chau town/ Dinner at Hanoi Local restaurant
Trekking times: 2 hours/ distance trekking 8 km. boat trip 1 hour/ transfer 3 hours to Hanoi

Day 7: Hanoi leisure day ( B/L/-)
Today is free day and an opportunity for some last minutes shopping or an opportunity to visit the sights of Hanoi. In the evening we can organize a visit to the famous water puppet theatre for our last night in this fantastic country.

Day 8: Hanoi – Departure
After break fast in Hotel, transfer to the Airport for international flights to your homes
